Defend DACA

In voting to re-open the government this week, Senate Republicans promised to bring a clean and fair immigration bill to the floor to deal with the impending end of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, known as DACA, in the next three weeks.

Senators Richard Burr and Thom Tillis need to show leadership and separate themselves from the extreme fringe of their party, and create a bipartisan solution to fix this legislative emergency.

Republicans currently control all levers of government, and have the opportunity to make a historic mark with immigration solutions. They don’t have much time to do it, and the fate of more than 650,000 DREAMers, who were brought to the country as young children, and who are currently living, working, and prospering in the US, hangs in the balance.

Sign the petition urging Senators Burr and Tillis to follow through on their prior commitments to act in best interests of all Americans and forge a path forward to make permanent the spirt and protections of DACA.

As North Carolinians concerned about the fate of the tens of thousands of our families, friends, and neighbors currently protected by DACA, we urge you to work expeditiously to find a fair, permanent, workable bipartisan solution for those currently living with DACA protections. We urge you to pass a clean DREAM Act NOW!
